The Face Behind
Bound & Blessed
Quilting has been percolating inside me for over 25 years. I started my first quilt in college while working in a craft store and flipping through quilt books. Unfortunately, those were pre-internet days and I couldn't figure out why the blocks wouldn't fit together. I didn't know that I was supposed to trim the blocks to the same size before sewing them together. Fast forward 15 years. I was about to have my daughter, and I really wanted to make a "nesting quilt". I took a class at JoAnn and haven't looked back. I was a very prolific quilter while she was little and took three-hour naps. I did all of my own free-motion quilting on my domestic machine. The first time I used a longarm, it was the most fun I'd had in a long time. I have dreamed of owning one for years. Once my daughter started school, I began to ponder what was next for me. Whatever it was, it had to be creative, helping others, and flexible. So I took the leap and purchased an APQS Millie30 with QuiltPath.

We all have a need to be creative. Quilts are a special part of our creative history. For hundreds of years, people have made quilts for many reasons: to fill a creative need, a practical need, or a social need. Hours of love and hard work are poured into quilts. For whatever reason, sometimes quilts linger in a closet unfinished. Maybe you love to piece, and quilting just isn't your favorite part. Maybe you are a new quilter who loves to sew but are intimidated by the space and skills needed to finish a quilt. Maybe your grandmother passed away before finishing a special project, and you would love to honor her memory by finishing it. Quilts deserve to be finished and loved. I will use my creativity to help you finish those quilt tops, so they can add beauty to your life. Or maybe you plan to bless someone else with a very generous gift of your quilting creativity. With my help, you and your quilts can soon be Bound & Blessed.

My main goal as a longarm quilting artist is to help you finish your quilts, so they can be used, loved, and admired. I have quilts in many rooms of my house. I take the best naps, when I am snuggled under one. I call it quilt magic!

After putting your heart into a big project like making a quilt, I know it is an act of trust to hand it over to someone else to do the quilting. It is a privilege to be a part of completing your treasure. I will do my best to ensure your quilt is returned to you in excellent condition. But, please remember that I am human, using a powerful machine, and mistakes can occur. Also, I may use techniques such as starch or steam to help achieve better results. I will do my best to remedy problems if they occur.

I am excited to see all the lovely patterns and fabrics that will come through my studio! I look forward to working with you and choosing a quilting design and thread to complement your beautiful quilt top!
