Have you looked at my website and wondered if our quilting styles would be a good fit? I tend to have a more modern aesthetic and use a lot of bright colors. My favorite part of going to quilt guild is the show-and-tell time at the end. Many of the quilts there are not ones that I would typically make, and I find them all beautiful. I definitely appreciate all the creativity, time, and love that has gone into making each one. One of the things I am most excited about is the fact that I get to work with different patterns and fabrics that I typically wouldn't make myself. I know you have put a lot of time and effort into your quilt, and I want to showcase your creativity.
The first person that reached out to me about quilting was a very sweet and encouraging woman named Bonnie, whom I have known for almost 20 years. Since I had recently received my machine, I asked her if I could do some of her quilts for free. So she dug into her closet and pulled out some beauties for me to work on. We talked about her style, but ultimately she let me make the design decisions. I appreciated this freedom so that I could practice new skills and techniques.
I chose to start with the smallest quilt first. It is a blue, gray, cream, and brown patchwork. I chose the Summer's Song pantograph because it echoed the pattern in one of the fabrics. I chose a blue thread to pop against the neutral fabrics.

The next quilt is a dark floral stack and whack. I have never made a stack and whack. Are they as addictive as everyone says? This dark color palette is also not one I would normally choose, but I loved the contrast in the fabrics and the richness of the colors. I chose the Paradise Feather pantograph because the curves of the feathers played well with the flowers.

This is a jewel tone batik star quilt with metallic accents. I have never used batiks, so I really enjoyed seeing their beauty up close. I want to learn more about my computer, so I challenged myself by doing semi-custom quilting. I put different patterns in the blocks, sashing, and borders. The tricky part about semi-custom quilting is that you have to make sure that the design stays in the intended area and does not cross into another area. I chose a block design that filled up the cream corners. A copper-colored thread that matched the metallic accents in the fabrics allowed the them to shine. This was a fun challenge, and I am very happy with how it turned out. I am considering offering semi-custom quilting, so if that is something you are interested in, please reach out and let me know.

I have tried to add a variety of pantograph styles to my available designs, and I will continue to add more over time. If you don't see a design that matches your vision, please let me know, and I will help you find the right one. I also have a growing thread collection with 80 colors so far. I hope there is a color that will be perfect for your next project. If you would like to work together, please fill out a quilt form and we will get started!
